I'm drawn to support work as I believe my purpose in life help balance the scales of inequity. I also have lived experience with psychosocial disabilities, and therefore truely understand how pivotal access to the right support is in living a fulfilled and independent life. I moved to support work from management as I wanted the point of my work to be helping people, not helping make someone richer. I'm a big lover of all things ocean, music and science related. I used to work and live in Thailand as a scuba diving instructor, so scuba, freediving and snorkelling are my favourite hobbies. I also generally love spending time in nature and with animals or playing any sport. Socially, I enjoy going to craft beer halls and all kinds of live music, from metal bands to musical theatre, I don't discriminate. I'm a big ole nerd who loves any excuse to watch a documentary or read a scientific paper or book. I consider myself a very empathetic, bubbly and emotionally intelligent person with strong mental health knowledge. I'm currently undertaking a Bachelor of Science (Behavioural Psychology minor track) at the University of Melbourne. I use this knowledge and understanding to identify early warning signs of mental health decline, and support clients in implementing incremental positive coping strategies and behavioural change.
