About

I am a current Social carer and i specialize with clients assisting them with community access. I thrive to organise activities tailored to each specific clients interests and needs by communicating with them verbally and also taking into consideration social cues which i observe. I always follow up on current and upcoming activities or events to be able to introduce new experiences and memories to my clients. Along with activities i also assist clients on day or over night trips always doing my research to provide the best possible experience each time. Along with community access i also enjoy helping my clients be active members of the community, and also assisting them with daily tasks such as taking them to appointments, hair dressers etc. My main motivation in this role is to provide people with memories and experience to put a smile on their face and to help achieve their goals. I love my job because it gives me fullfilment and joy making a difference and having a positive impact in peoples lives. I enjoy woking with children and young adults. I believe the most important quality of a social carer is having empathy and being able to stay calm and positive in all situations and most importantly being able to form a genuine and respectful relationships with the people we work with and their families. I really enjoy going for car rides, going on long road trips or day trips. I have alot of knowledge of activities for both adults and children within Melbourne and Victoria. I am a very outdoor person and enjoy doing outdoor activities, site seeing, and also bowling and discovering new places to eat. I am passionate about my community and have a big presence and interest in being an active and productive member my community and cherishing relationships with like minded people. I am currently enrolled to begin a certificate 3 in disability support work to be able to gain more knowledge and provide a more personalised service. I have been working as a social support worker for the past year working with clients with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, depression etc. I only do community access and transportation i do not work with clients with personal care requirements
