Hi my name is Jason Kirkham i am based in the Gippsland area in a town of Tanjil South. i am a mature gentleman age 56 having decided to make a change of career and become a support worker to assist adults of all ages live a independent and successful life as possible within their own homes and making their own choices. after having many years experience in a caring role including as a personal carer in a nursing home in the Blue Mountains town of Leura, a second interest in cooking and nutrition from my trade qualification as a chef,the qualties and core values of like family align with my own. The duties i have done as a unpaid carer include shopping,paying bills,banking,housework,and gardening as well as food preperation for various meals, also transporting to doctors appointments as well as other personal areas that were required. some personal care tasks,toilet transfers,showering,dressing of non ambulant persons. after the passing of my beloved wife whilst in my 30's i went and worked as a personal care attendant in a nursing home looking after residents who had dementia from drug or alcohol abuse as well as others who were residents from being unable to care for themselves at home. i found this to extremely rewarding and as will again doing this, i enjoy just spending time with people who just like to have a chat. I love helping others and take time out of my life to be there for whoever needs me.
