My passion is working with people and helping them. I love to watch people thrive and be able to support them to do this. I’ve spent many years of my life working with people in all walks of life. I believe in order to support people you need to be compassionate and caring but also give them help when required in order to reach their goals. I feel I communicate well with others and can build rapport easily with others - something that is crucial for a social carer. ^& ^&In my previous roles I volunteered as the well-being lead for my team. I did monthly events to bring everyone together and to remind everyone that our own well-being is very important when supporting others. During my time at the learning disability house I took the lead to organise events for the residents. This included cinema trips, theme parks, nature / animal walks and more. This is something they had not been able to do before as they didn’t have the support to organise this themselves. I feel everyone should be able to experience opportunities and I think it’s the role of a social carer to support people who need it to be able to take these opportunities. I think it is important to understand what people enjoy and then trailer support towards that. If a customer liked animals it would be that I could look into sanctuary’s and centres in the local area that we could visit. Again an example would be introducing someone to a yoga / mindfulness class to help them with physical and mental health holistically. ^&
