About

As an ambulance professional of some 17 years’ service, I have an extensive range of experience with clients with chronic, acute and or complicated medical histories and medical requirements. I have a passionate interest in cooking and can cook most things quite well, including homemade Italian and Indian dishes (meatballs, pasta, gnocchi, sauces, basil pesto, a range of curries etc), stir fries, roast meals, steak, seafood dishes, basic sushi and sashimi, spit roast barbecue, Texas style ribs, homemade ice cream and homemade sausages. I have a strong interest in espresso coffee making and have completed several professional espresso courses. Over the past 10 years, I have developed a competent range of photoshop skills encompassing a wide range of art styles including the restoration and digital colouring of old black and white photos. Other interests include Formula 1 motor racing, motorcycle riding, tropical fish keeping, stained glass crafts, fine art, an eclectic group of music tastes and learning languages including Auslan for the hearing impaired. I completed two Auslan courses quite some time ago and intend on further study in this area. Domestic skills include lawn mowing, whipper snipping, clothes washing, grocery shopping, bill paying, ironing, general cleaning, home and garden maintenance. I’m easy going, caring, level headed, laid back and respectful with a dry sense of humour.^& ^&As an experienced ambulance professional, I have developed the ability to seamlessly tailor a range of skill sets and interests to a clients' specific needs in an inclusive approach that is client centered and empowers the client to feel relaxed, respected, understood and supported. It is important to treat a client as an equal, not as a patient or an inconvenience. Similarly, It is important as a support worker, to blend in with the clients' surroundings, family and friends. ^&
