Working as a Social Carer would be a step into a new industry/work, however this challenge is something I am willing to undertake as this opportunity provides me with the ability to develop new skills and furthermore refine the current skill set I do have. I understand the role entails and revolves around the idea of helping individuals and elevating their lives. Over the past year, my job as a Sales person has enabled me to develop sound interpersonal and communication skills and has given me the ability to approach and talk to various types of people, from different backgrounds and having different circumstances. Furthermore, as the oldest sibling, it was always me that had to work out how many things worked i.e. going into high school, school excursions, certain tasks in VCE even driving. And as the older sibling it was partly my responsibility to be a role model and pass on whatever useful information I had attained to my younger siblings, in the same way this role can enable me to share my experiences and skills to the community. So this ability to converse with a wide range of people coupled with the constant role model and being someone my younger siblings looks up to and at times uses my experiences to alter or make the most of their own are two main skills I can bring to the workforce and will ultimately enable me to be a great social worker. ^& ^&I would want to share my hobby of soccer with individuals in the community. Whether this be as simple as taking a soccer ball and going to the soccer pitch to kick it around, or adding a little more intricacy to it and playing a game for a competition. My passion for soccer has been a big part of my life and helps me enjoy and destress at times too. Having a sport or hobby is vital to maintaining a balance in life otherwise things can at times get too serious and there feels like there is no escape or its never-ending. I would love to progress through soccer from playing it to going to watch a game at AAMI park in order to relive the atmosphere of a stadium where there are thousands of soccer fans right around you. ^&
