I’m experienced in this field. I have a cert4 I’m disability. I’m compassionate and understanding as well as patient. ^& ^&In a situation where I dealt with a participant who had severe autism and intellectual disability, the participant felt overwhelmed and had a meltdown when an unfamiliar object was in my car (a broomstick) during after school pick up. She was unable to communicate what was bothering her so I patiently pointed at everything that was causing her distress till finally when I removed the broomstick was she able to get in her car seat. I left the broomstick at the school to return for later after I took her home. I had to identify what the problem was and carefully attend to her needs. ^&
