I'm deeply passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others. Having worked as a support worker at Care Integrity Agency and a volunteer at the Baan Unrak Nursing Home, I have had meaningful experiences in caring for the elderly and those with disabilities. This has enabled me to develop vital skills such as providing essential assistance with daily tasks, administering medications, preparing nutritious meals, and offering emotional support. In addition to my hands-on experience, my educational background has equipped me with the essential skills and knowledge in business administration, which are also beneficial in coordinating and organizing care services effectively. I believe that these experiences have honed my interpersonal and problem-solving skills, enabling me to connect with clients and families, understand their unique needs, and offer tailored support. My exposure to diverse roles, from being a nanny and housekeeper to working in a retail setting, has reinforced my adaptability and resilience. These experiences have also allowed me to develop a broad range of skills, including maintaining cleanliness, organization, and providing excellent customer service. As a certified professional in First Aid, CPR, and Infection Control Training - COVID 19, I am well-versed in handling emergencies, ensuring safety and well-being of those in my care. I understand that everyone has a unique story and I am ready to listen without judgment. I am drawn to the role of a Social Carer because it allows me to connect with different people, understand their stories, and provide them with the support they need. The ability to positively impact others' lives motivates me to strive for excellence in this role.^& ^&As a support worker with a passion for cooking, I believe that this hobby can be shared with and bring joy to the individuals I work with. Food, beyond being a necessity, is a wonderful vehicle for interaction, memory stimulation, learning, and emotional comfort. For those clients who show an interest, I could involve them in different stages of the cooking process. This could range from sharing recipes and discussing meal planning, to the more hands-on aspects like preparing ingredients and cooking together. I understand that participation level may vary based on their capabilities and comfort, so the involvement would be tailored to their individual abilities and needs. Take for example a client who loves Italian cuisine and used to cook pasta from scratch. I would propose a cooking session where we could make pasta together. We would start from the basics, discussing the ingredients needed and the step-by-step process. This could potentially evoke fond memories and stimulate conversation, contributing to their mental well-being. For clients with limited mobility or cognitive abilities, I could conduct cooking demonstrations, which they can watch and enjoy. I could also engage them in simple tasks such as stirring the sauce or choosing the vegetables for the salad, thus providing them with a sense of participation and accomplishment. Additionally, cooking sessions could help in enhancing their fine motor skills, memory recall, and even contribute to their sense of autonomy and self-esteem. The end goal would not only be a nutritious meal, but a joyful and stimulating experience that respects their abilities and celebrates their contributions.^&
