Previously working as a Swim Teacher, filling in mentor roles such as being a big brother myself and an older individual inside my sporting clubs. I believe I would make a great Social Carer due to my constant care for everyone around me. I love working with people, building new relationships and seeing the further development of others; which was the most rewarding thing I found about teaching. Back home in Tasmania, the primary school swim program is a government requirement and when teaching in those programs for the last two years I have dealt with a range of students with different abilities and conditions as well as class sizes (from 1-1 through to 1-20). The most rewarding part of teaching though was in fact seeing the development of the students, those who believed they weren't good enough / couldn't complete a task due to such self doubt (eg. submerging underwater) to being even further developed by the end of our time together (eg. moving on from struggling to submerge to floating for extended periods of time).^& ^&I would discuss my skills or hobbies openly with someone in the community, discussing them with great excitement - I love the opportunity to talk about what I get to do. For example, a passion of mine is swimming so when I get the opportunity to speak about I find myself in an environment where I can thrive. I personally believe that this skill is something that I would gladly share with the community and is something that many will find beneficial. ^&
