I love to help people! I am from California. I moved here 20 years ago for my partner. It has been the best decision I have ever made! I never thought of being a carer until I met my neighbours 6 years ago. I would spend every Friday with them for a drink. Then, Des, kept falling and his wife, Andree' couldn't get him off the floor. He just turned 88. He is now in aged care sadly. I check on Andree every morning. If she needs someone to take her to see Des, I will always do so. When she isn't going to see him, I suggest a mental health day. We go driving around looking at houses. Her favourite thing to do. With all this time I have spent with them and seeing the people at the home, I was excited to see this job posted. Nothing is better then making people smile of all ages. ^& ^&The first thing I would do is make sure they are interested. If they really would like to learn then I would explain what I am doing step by step. Then when they are comfortable I would sit with them as they do, let's say, making a DVD. I could first show an example of one done and walk them through it. ^&
