I have completed a Certificate IV in Youth Work and am currently studying a Bachelor of Social Work as I have always been passionate about helping others and making a positive impact on the world. I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and I have seen firsthand the effects that mental illness can have on individuals and their loved ones. I have had several experiences in my personal and professional life that have solidified my desire to work in this field. I worked with individuals as a disability support worker who were struggling with a wide range of issues, including depression and anxiety. It was incredibly rewarding to see the progress they made through therapy and to be able to offer them a safe and supportive environment to talk about their struggles. In addition to my personal experiences, I have also been motivated by the increasing awareness and focus on mental health and support work in our society.^& ^&Swapping skills is an interesting an engaging way to share hobbies with other individuals. There are fun strategy games which can last 30 minutes — these are much more suitable for beginners. If I can see that they really enjoyed it, I may suggest a longer game, while others will never go beyond their mild appreciation of the hobby. I will always start with a demonstration of exactly what I will be doing before my client starts. In my example, this would be running an example turn in front of new players.^&
