I love working with a wide range of people. I previously volunteered for the Hutt St Centre, St Vinnies, and Caritas Australia, which introduced me to a wide range of people and concerns across Australia and international communities. Over the two years volunteering for different organizations, it has taught me a lot about respect for the client, their personal information, and their personal challenges, which I believe is essential to being a professional and successful social carer. Furthermore, my work experience as a Coles team member as well as a volunteer had led to exposure to diverse, and in many cases underprivileged, populations which developed my ability to maintain an open-minded perspective, which is a skill I believe is imperative for a social carer. ^& ^&One of my greatest interests is within the sporting field, primarily volleyball. Initially, I would raise the topic of sports in a casual conversation to see if the other person would be interested. If he/she/they express an interest in sports, I would then continue in further conversation and initiate ideas of either joining a sports team, watching games together, or simply continuing with the conversation. As I believe interests can be expressed in any shape or form, I aim to share a common interest or hobby with someone in a way that is respectful of their boundaries.^&
