I am drawn to social care because I have a strong desire to make a positive impact on people's lives and contribute to their well-being. I believe I am well-suited for this field due to my compassionate nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with people. I also want to keep learning to provide the best support to those in need, making a meaningful difference in their lives. Passions - Travel, Animals and Wildlife, Music, Gardening I am originally from the UK and have been living in Australia for the last 3 years as a permeant resident with my husband and 2 daughters. I have an Uncle with Down Syndrome who has been in my life for day dot. I have been a Teacher Aid in a special school for students aged 3-19 with severe, moderate/profound and multiple learning difficulties. I used a range of communication devices but our main one was Makaton - a language programme that uses signs together with speech and symbols, to enable the students to communicate. I also gained my LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN SPECIALIST SUPPORT FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING while working here for 7 years. The last 3 years I have been a disability support worker working for a company.
