I would love to make a positive impact on someone else's life. I love sharing my ideas and supporting others to reach their goals. Growing up, I have had a lot of experience looking after my younger siblings, who are now 8 and 13 years old. From changing diapers to going on arcade trips and theme park rides; the fun is endless! Toward the end of 2020, my dad had a stroke and was soon after diagnosed with dementia. I had the responsibility of moving him from his home to a nursing home, sorting out his clientele and their files, and filling out legal documents on his behalf. This experience was one of the hardest challenges of my life but I also realised this was greatly challenging for my dad too. I would make a great Social Carer because this experience alone has made me understand the impact of turning up, with a smile on your face, is sometimes all a person needs to feel safe, loved, and secure. As a former manager, I will be able to share my discretionary skills with the community by being aware of when I need to step in to help out and when I may step back to allow for personal development, engagement, and enjoyment to occur. One of my hobbies is fitness! I love walking up tracks such as those at Picnic Point and Mount Cootha. Taking in the fresh air, having a nice chat, and grabbing a coffee at the peak really helps to alleviate stress and feel a sense of accomplishment. I also thoroughly enjoy traveling and trying new activities and adventures whenever I can. For example, I had the opportunity to visit New Zealand and go skiing for the first time in 2021. Although I wasn't very good at it, I had a blast! See one of the photos attached for reference. If you have any questions please free to contact me, I'd love to chat. :)
