I have always been a very open minded person. I love meeting new people and hear about them and their life. It makes me truly happy to make another person happy and put a smile on their face. A few months ago I saw an elderly man struggling to push is shopping trolly so I helped him and it made me so happy that I could help but also so sad as he doesn´t have anybody who is taking care of him. This made me think... What can I do to help? I want to support people who need a friend, a little change in their daily routine. I am from Germany and I came to Australia in 2011 to work as an Au-Pair. I have experience working with children - new born to teenagers. My grandma is turing 90 years this year and when I am at home, I help her with her washing, cooking, ... I go with her for little walks or just sit with her and talk to her or we do drawings together. I am a Certified Sports and Health Coach and have been a health and life coach for the last 4 years. I had a couple of really stressful years and being able to bring joy to people will really light my life up too.^& ^&It really depends on the person, I am with, feels like doing that day. I would definitely try to do most activities outside (if not too hot), as nature and fresh air is so important to our health. Activities like reading, drawing, etc. are also perfect to do outside, it doesn't always have to be physical activities. If I am with an elderly person I would love to get this person moving starting with little movements, either at home or by going outside for a little walk. After that? My question would be: "How are you feeling right now? Would you like to have some coffee or even some ice cream? Or do you feel like chilling out and let me read a book for you? Every day is different and sometimes planned activities don’t work out, as the person might feel tired this day. If I´m with a child... I would definitely get some physical activities going, but make them fun. Play ball games, go to the playground, go swimming, theme park, etc. Of course, I would also do any homework with the child and sit with them if they need some quiet, calm time. If I'm with a person my age (plus/minus my age) I would definitely find some fun activities. If it´s a women my age, maybe she would like to go shopping or get her nails done with me. If I am with a man my age, and he likes sports, we could play some or go and watch a game live or on TV. (Or vice versa). Whatever the person I´m with wants to do, I will make sure that we have fun togehter. If the person I´m with loves dogs I would bring my dog Jet along, he is a big happy 1.5 year old German Shepherd.^&
