For the past 19years, I have juggled a career in Marketing as well as being a full time carer for my special needs son. I have also cared for my elderly parents and volunteer weekly at church. My passion for helping others turned into a desire to pursue a career as a social worker. I am a great listener, understanding, fast learner & patient and I strive to improve the lives of my clients by understanding how I can best support them with their daily routines to improve their quality of life. We have had some amazing support workers that have made a positive impact with our son and I want to be able to provide the same joy to other individuals. I am a mother of 6 and run a busy household and enjoy the challenges of being a working mother. I have 25 years of experience in the Sales and Marketing industry, 3 years in bond professional cleaning of homes, 5 years of running my own Baking business and 5 years of my personal fitness journey where I’ve lost 80kg to date. I also have 2 years of Child care experience as well. Back in 2014, I gave my full time job to be my eldest child’s full time carer and found my passion for support work. During the past 10 years, I’ve learnt so much in regards to my son’s disability and how to best support him and we have achieved so many personal wins that were deemed impossible by specialist, I’ve gone on to support family & friends who had a special need child the way I was able to support my son and have enjoyed helping others and being a part of their journey. I found myself volunteering at church and helping the less fortunate, running their primary programs as well as our helping the elderly and have now completed a certificate 4 in aging support and ascertained my First Aid in CPR and basic emergency life support certificates. I have also obtained my Bluecard and my NDIS worker screening. I have a very positive attitude and also love to inspire and encourage people to learn new things. I am very creative, sporty and fun to be around. Some of best attributes are my abilities to assist people with socialising in the community
