I understand that life can get quite complex, difficult and overstimulating. I wanted to become a Social Carer so I can hopefully help life be more simple, easy and comfortable for individuals - whether it’s just driving them to appointments because public transport is too confusing, trying a new hobby/class with them because they are too socially anxious to go alone or even just writing birthday cards and picking gifts for the grandchildren because they are physically incapable of doing it themselves. I am empathetic, gentle, a great listener, organized, respectful and also naturally want to people to feel at ease. I enjoy going to the library to read books - suspense/thriller and romance are my favorite genres. I like slow afternoons in the park listening to chill/relaxing music while resting in the shade. I know I have too many plants but still get excited when I am gifted another one. I love op shopping and the thrill of possibly finding a statement piece, bonus that it’s a sustainable way to shop too! I have a Diploma in Childcare and work part time at a daycare but I also do a lot of babysitting. I absolutely love working with children. I see them as capable little humans and ensure that I have a caring and fun, yet respectful relationship with them. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Whilst I am not practicing in this industry, I have been able to use the skills I learned in my day to day life when interacting while people from different cultures, circumstances, backgrounds or needs. I have a sister who has Down Syndrome. Growing up with her taught me the importance of kindness, of the benefits of patience, and that everyone should be treated with respect. Always.
