Social carers meet lots people and get the opportunity to do a host of different things with all these "wide ranging people" who have diverse interests. So as a social carer I get to be flexible and adaptable to support people I might never have had the opportunity to meet. I enjoy meeting new people irrespective of their age across the life courses. I love listening to their stories and history while helping them complete activities or tasks they need help to undertake or motivation to do. I like to stand beside you and together accomplish the tasks. I support justice and sustainability principles and these are reflected in my partnership with the person I work alongside. I want everyone to achieve equity and access to what they seek within their capabilities and to participate in the community. They are treated fairly and honestly. As well I work within a framework that promotes sustainability which means as a social carer, I work to ensure individuals aren't wasting their valuable resources (human, financial, physical and emotional), and so I focus on a framework of rethink, reduce, re-use, refill, recycle, repurpose, repair, and in doing so draw on the creativity and innovation of those I support to be sustainable. I love fashion and houses/interior and exterior designs. I also enjoy watching foreign movies especially some of the great series on prime, SBSOnDemand. I absolutely adore beautiful gardens and horticulture and pottering in a garden or building a garden/vegie patch . Am a solid walker so if you like taking time to walk about and click up your steps, I can join you for some healthy competition. I am an organiser of spaces too - I declutter, re-organise and restore spaces so you can live functionally and with order and simplicity. My passion for organising also reaffirms my interest in sustainability and promoting the circular economy. I work in a social enterprise that reclaims haberdashery and fabrics/notions /craft and sewing accessories. Something that I have experience in is writing. It can be academic and helping with research and preparing papers, or it might be writing a complaint or putting together letters. I am an enthusiast for spending time putting stories together in letters and sending to friends or people that have meaning to you. I like to organise, so if you need things organised, can help out.
