I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds. I have grown up in regional NSW a country boy at heart. I have excellent interpersonal skills and have ability to comunicate well with people from vast backgrounds and a variety of ages. I feel that life experiences travelling extensively hold me in good stead to deal with people from differing backgrounds. Work experiences and situations particularly in the Fire Brigade have made me realise that life is precious and you only get one chance at it, so my take on that is make the most of every moment. This outlook I beleive would be invaluable to a prospective client looking for a Social Carer that has their needs at the forefront of the situation. In the Fire Brigade I see an incident as somebody having a really bad day we the fire fighters come to try and fix improve make their day better or as best we can. I see the role of a Social Carer in a similar way to improve the lifestlye and day of the person requiring care.^& ^&I'd spend the time with asking them what they are looking for or what would they like to do, either it be a game of bowls or a walk along the break wall or just sit down talking and listening to them. Ask them about their life where there from, siblings, friends and family. In general try to get to know them, like a friend.^&
