About

I am reliable, respectful, and compassionate with strong communication skills and high flexibility. As a dedicated and compassionate graduate in Psychology and studying Master's degree in Social Work next year, I have the desire to make the world a better place. Being a Support Worker isn't about clocking in and out; it's about having a genuine passion for making other people's lives easier, happier, and more comfortable. After all, skills and training are paramount to maintaining high working standards; the passion for helping those in need makes a real difference. Everybody wants to be heard, and this is why I am here for. As mentioned in the job description social carers in likefamily support people in the community who have become isolated due to age, disability, injury, or circumstance. And the main goal is to help people with activities that build independence, and encourage social interaction, thus allowing them to enjoy life. First of all, we need to respect people's wishes by asking their opinion instead of showing off what we are good at. We could start with open questions like "what do you like to do?" or "How do you feel about something?". After knowing that they are interested in something, we can ask them "Would you like to know more about something?" or "Hey, do you want to know something interesting ?" and maybe share some interesting stories to attract their attention. If they are showing more interest in it, we could guide them by asking "do you want to give it a try?". It is very important to let people know we respect their wishes and that they always have choices. If they are willing to do it, we could encourage them by saying "WOW, you've done a great job! You've made a big progress!". Encouraging and recognizing people's efforts is crucial to boost their confidence and increasing independence. All in all, being respectful all the time, letting them choose, and encouraging their progress are three main ideas when we share our skills or hobbies with someone.
