I have worked with vulnerable people for the past five years; I have worked closely with youth on the spectrum through S.I.L housing helping support young men achieve routines and healthy habits. I have been able to engage well with any of the clients I have supported closely getting them outdoors and active ensuring that their mental and physical health is maintained. I have a passion for goal setting and helping people achieve the goals they have set for themselves, (no matter how big or small). I love good food (cooking) good music and sports; I have been able to help young men implement healthy eating habits and physical routines into their lives. All while enjoying themselves.^& ^&An example of a young man who has been struggling with his weight, The young man has no culinary skills and orders uber eats every night. Draw out a plan with the young man of all his favourite foods create a menu together from that. Teach the young man how to prepare and cook the dishes safely with support or without it depending on the complexity of the client. While creating a physical exercise plan that is effective but nonstrenuous usually would be fun activities created so that the young person does not feel like it is a chore that he needs to do rather something he looks forward to. This is usually created with consultation with the young person so that it incorporates the hobbies and interests of the client.^&
