I've always felt a strong pull to help and support people in need. This drive comes from my own experiences with mental health challenges and seeing firsthand what my family members have gone through with their complex mental health issues. These experiences have given me a deep sense of compassion and empathy, and a real commitment to making a difference in others' lives. At 41, I bring a lot of life experience and emotional intelligence to the table. I'm naturally kind and compassionate, and as a parent of three, I've learned how to nurture and support others, even in tough times. Caring for people feels like it's part of my DNA. I also have a fun and positive outlook, which helps me connect with people and lighten their burdens. My background with mental health, both personally and with my family, gives me a unique understanding and a lot of empathy for those I want to help. I get how complicated mental health issues can be and know how important it is to offer caring, personalized support. In short, my personal experiences, compassionate nature, and love for helping others make me a great fit for social work. I'm dedicated to making a positive impact in people's lives, using my empathy, resilience, and supportive spirit. My passion lies in spending time with my family, reading, and studying to achieve my goals of helping people. My skills include lived experience with mental health within my family, Cert Iv in mental health and I’m working towards my diploma in counselling. Reading and continuing my studies are my passion as well as helping people. One important aspect of my background that I'd like to share is my extensive experience running a business. From the age of 20 until 2019, I successfully managed my own business, which included working overseas and collaborating with a diverse range of people. This experience has honed my skills in various areas, including business administration, communication, and adaptability. I have a Certificate III in Business Administration from TAFE New South Wales, which has equipped me with strong written and verbal communication skills. I'm also proficient in using Microsoft Office. After returning from overseas, I decided to continue my studies in the field of mental health and counseling, driven by my passion for helping others. This year, I have completed several important courses: Accidental Counsellor, LivingWorks, and Access to Lethal Means. Additionally, I have completed a Certificate IV in Mental Health and am currently pursuing a Diploma of Counselling. These courses and ongoing studies have further enhanced my ability to support individuals in crisis and address mental health challenges effectively. I pride myself on being reliable and punctual, traits that have served me well both in my business and personal endeavors. My lived experience with mental health, combined with my compassionate nature, makes me particularly effective in understanding and supporting others. Additionally, I bring a fun and creative approach to everything I do, ensuring that I connect well with those around me.
