I have 20 years experience in an array of customer facing relationship roles at management level. The core of all the roles I have held during my career has been creating rapport and building and fostering lasting relationships. I have a renewed vigour to take my next career move on a more meaningful and rewarding path. I am an active member in my local social circles and am passionate about local community. I am compassionate and caring and want to put this to use in my next challenge. My communication skills are exceptional and I am a hardworking, dedicated, and fun team member. I run a successful weekly trivia event at both The Metro Hotel in Maitland and also the Lambton Park Hotel. I enjoy Playing guitar and song writing, I have a history of organising and curating live music events (boutique music festivals and smaller intimate gigs). I also enjoy reading, cooking, socialising with friends & family, travel and Fitness. A bit about myself; I am 42, British, have been living in Australia for 13 years, 10 of which I have been residing in the Maitland area with my wife and two young children. I consider myself a fun, friendly and outgoing individual and enjoy making new connections in and out of work wherever possible. A bit more about my experience: I have been working in face to face customer service and sales and Team Leader roles for the whole of my career. I started out as a Sales Consultant and Property Manager for a Real Estate Agency in my hometown which I did for 6 years. I then moved into retail sales of mobile cellular/internet products for one of the largest high street retailers in the UK. Since living in Australia the majority of my roles have been in various Hospitality Management roles, the most recent having been the General Manager for two venues for the Good Folk Brewing company (past 3 years). I did however make the leap out of hospitality at the end of 2018 and found a role working in recruitment for a Youth and NDIS Employment Program with APM in Maitland. I enjoyed every aspect of that role, but circumstances changed early 2020 with covid and I made the move back into Venue Management. 5 years pre covid I built my own music promotions business in my spare time too. This has involved me curating and managing and executing small boutique music festival events and also a YouTube series. The event management side of that business has built on my foundations in customer service and management to see me direct teams of up to 30 people for each event and has demonstrated my drive to achieve my goals, time management, people skills, business development, organisation and communication skills. My wealth of experience in sales, team leading and customer relations has made me highly proficient in communication with people from all walks of life, business to business negotiation, business to client negotiation, nurturing lasting customer and stakeholder relationships, team motivation, management and building, marketing and promotion, admin, budget forecasting, profit and loss, conflict resolution, targeting and KPI’s, upselling, time management and organisation, computer literacy and software maintenance.
