About

I thoroughly enjoy making a difference in people’s lives! I understand that everyone experiences their own challenges in life that may impact elements of their lives. In most cases, having a support person behind you can really impact your quality of life and help change your perspective and feel nurtured. A simple gesture of kindness from us, can have a major impact on someone else’s life. I believe I would make a great social worker as I really pay attention to the needs of certain people and pride myself on my ability to adapt to the needs of others. Whether it be a conversation to get something of their chest, or a fun filled day to remove someone from a difficult situation, I can base an activity on an individuals specific needs to positively impact their life. I’m also a fun, outgoing person who loves the outdoors and making other people happy! I believe my ability to find the positive in everything and love for having fun would make me a great social worker. I have a sister who is autistic, and I believe growing up in an environment with someone who needs a little bit more attention has made me see how much she thrives when she is supported, and I would love to do the same to others. I love cooking, listening to music, enjoying the outdoors. Im open to learn new skills from my clients, as well as help teach them new skills too! One of my hobbies is outdoor adventures. I would share my passion for this by firstly getting to know my buddy. Really understanding what there interests are. For example, I love the beach, if I’m working with someone who loves animals, I would do my research and find fun activities we can do at the beach that surround animals. I would find a beach that has a park near by where we can go and explore the animals that are in the park, and also go to the beach and walk in the rock pools and see what sea creatures we can find, we could take photos of all the animals we see, then when we get back create a fun scrapbook together with descriptions of what each animal was. Another Bobbie of mine is cooking. If I was working with someone who enjoyed baking, and I enjoy cooking, we could make fun activities where we teach each other how to make a certain meal. By the end we both will have learnt a new skill, and focused on each of our hobbies in the process
