My personal background has provided me with exceptional knowledge and the confidence needed to properly assist people with their personal care needs. I come from a large family with multiple siblings who have disabilities, supporting them in their daily lives and continue to do so. I have been working professionally as a disability support worker for the past 10 years, and a role that I absolutely love. I am passionate about assisting people to live as independently as possible, providing support for individual needs and with dignity. I enjoy providing entertainment and ensuring that they are happy and healthy, by involving them in community activities, physical wellbeing and supporting them in their daily lives. I have a good understanding of following and developing care plans. Due to my experience and personal life I understand the challenges and joy of living with a family member with an intellectual or physical disability. ^& ^&I would adapt my know-how according to the person's ability to understand.
