I have always had a passion to work with people. I am 24 and have just moved to Sydney from England after having completed two years working as a prison officer in a men's prison in London. This experience was challenging and out of my comfort zone at times but has helped me gain confidence and communication skills. During these two years, I worked on a landing with a lot of young adults and men with ADHD, Autism, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and a range of other mental health difficulties. My frontline experience of this has given me a non-judgemental and understanding mindset, and developed my passion to work as a social carer even further. I have also worked in a pupil referral unit for boys aged 10-11 who had behavioural difficulties, I worked 1 to 1 as well as helping with group sessions. Seeing how far these children came despite the difficulties they had faced was a very rewarding experience. I grew up on a diary farm in England with my parents and 4 brothers, so I have always had a strong work ethic and been keen to get involved with any task ahead of me. ^& ^&I am very passionate about art, especially watercolour painting, and I would love to help teach some basic skills I have learned or to paint with someone else. I find it can be a very relaxing and calming hobby and can be done indoors or outdoors. I also love animals and anything outdoors so would be keen to explore some outdoor areas with someone in the community whilst going on walks. However, I am also very willing to learn new skills and would be keen to learn a new skill or hobby with someone! ^&
