I have always helped my friends out by listening to their concerns, whether it may be personal issues like mending relationship with family, breakups, deaths, being bullied etc., and assisting them with what I can do, as a result I tend to get told that if I worked as a social support worker or a therapist as a career, I would be great at it. I am empathetic and a compassionate person, while I may not have prior experience - with enough time I strive to become a great Social Carer.^& ^&I would strike up a conversation with them to start off - when we first meet it's always a good idea to introduce yourselves to each other so that we can get the formalities out of the way and treat each other like normal people. If they have a hobby we share in common we could talk more about it, we could show each other what we do with our hobbies. As for showing one of our skills, it's normally something that's better off "shown, not told", deriving from the "show, not tell" saying that I have always lived by since primary school days. If I know how to cook, I would rather show it instead of showing a recipe I crafted for that one dish.^&
