Having my own children and caring for family members with disabilities and ongoing illnesses has provided me with a new perspective on life. Watching my family members depend and put their trust into carers and social workers during a vulnerable time in their lives has made me understand how crucial it is to ensure the people undertaking these roles have the best intentions and make a positive impact in the persons life. I believe I can be one of these people which is why I decided to become a social worker. I think I will be a good social worker because I have interacted with people of all ages and different walks of life. I consider myself a good communicator and am non-judgmental. I have a genuine desire to help people and providing them with an opportunity to have a great quality of life whether it be, assisting them with their hobbies, being a shoulder to lean on and even just teaching them a person a new skill. These small things create big changes in the long run, positive changes. My passion is my children. I spend most of my time with my children. I also like animals. Particularly pets. I previously worked in Early Childhood Education so that has led me to become a little crafty. I like history, particularly watching documentaries on things like the Roman Empire, Egypt, the royal family etc.
