Hi! My name is Lukas. After just moving to Sydney, I was looking to engage myself within the Sydney community in a meaningful way, and Like Family seemed like the perfect way to do that. When I was studying at University in Perth, I worked for Channel 7’s Telethon. We would drive or fly to different locations across WA to engage people with Telethon, the children’s charity organisation which raises millions of dollars each year. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, as we would meet and work with people from all sorts of backgrounds, working in children's hospitals, sporting events and safe houses for women and children. We even hosted a Boeing 747 airplane joyride for youth with disability. My arts training is certainly an advantage when it comes to talking to people, as I have had invaluable experience in public communication skills through my work in the film industry. I am an incredibly creative and driven person who gets high satisfaction from helping others and challenging myself. I also LOVE to cook and have worked in the commercial side of food photography - cooking food that you see in digital advertisements. I also hosted many Zoom cooking classes during Covid, teaching my friends secret recipes from my family cook book. If you don't find me rehearsing a play or shooting a short film, I'm probably going hiking in my hometown in the Blue Mountains, watching a movie or going to the beach with friends.
