About

My motivation for becoming a social carer began with my family. I loved my grandparents very much and when my grandpa was diagnosed with dementia I enjoyed going on outings with him to his favourite restaurants. After his passing I supported my grandma by bringing over home cooked meals, visiting regularly for a chat and playing the piano for her. I have also experienced supporting family members with mental health conditions including depression, anxiety and borderline personality disorder. I have seen first hand how social connection and environment can greatly impact mental health and how shifting these positively can help overcome barriers and challenges. Additionally, my time working with children at Northern Beaches Council vacation care ignited a passion in caring for others, enriching everyday experiences and creating a sense of belonging. I believe I would be great at being a social care worker as I bring a fun, bubbly personality with a positive outlook on life and through my experiences I can provide connection and understanding to the person I am working with. My main passion is music. I have just finished my Bachelor's degree in music at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, and hope to bring my music skills into this role where possible. I am a songwriter and multi instrumentalist; I play guitar, ukulele, sing, and also play a bit of drums and piano. Music is powerful in so many ways, and I would love to share this passion of mine with others to positively impact lives. I also have other hobbies I enjoy such as sewing, dancing, cooking and hiking. I really enjoy spending time in nature and believe it to be healing and good for the soul. I also love dogs, picnics and the beach. I am available from the 11th January. I relish the opportunity to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Please reach out if I may suit your needs during the new year and beyond.
