Hi, my name is Bridget, Tell us why you would make a great Hero. I am working in the Community Services and am very passionate about making a difference to all age group especially the elders. Elders group deserve to be happy and being able to bridge the cap in keeping them company and feeling empathetic would be my strength to be able to fulfil my role as a Hero. In our culture, our elders (also known as Once Young) are kept at home and cared for by family members and they are the priority of all attention as we believe they deserve all the care, time and effort as they did to us (also known as Young Ones). Tell us how you will share one of your skills or hobbies to help someone in our community. I will ask about their interests and what makes them happy then use that idea to create an activity within the suggestions given. For example, I have and aunt and uncle whom our family referred to as the Once Young, when I visit them I always have a one on one time with each other, some days they both liked to talk whilst I listen and dialog and other days I would play cards with them, I sometimes take them both to the club for their social outing where the other elders are at playing keno or bingo. What is a quote that inspires you? 'It's not the Big things but the Little things', that makes a difference to the life of the Once Young.
