I love people I love to care fir those needing a helping hand. I have worked in the disability ector for about twenty years so have a strong understanding of the difficulties many people face each day this may be through disability, age, family issues, isolation and lonlyness, drug and alcohol use. In short I have had a lot of experience providing positive pathways for people facing hardship. I was born in Germany but my parents immigrated when I was only one so consider myself as Australian. As a child I grew up in the country – my parents working on cattle stations – dad as a mechanic and mum as station cook. It was a wonderful way of growing up and I have tons of stories to tell about those days. Currently work as a LAC – Local Area Coordinator for Uniting who work in partnership with NDIS. I enjoy this role and again assisting those facing diversity. I would like to provide some face to face support to people within the Campbelltown / Macarthur are on weekend or after hours. I live alone and have a lot of spare time which I will offer. Have to say honestly that cleaning is not my forte and would be much more suiting to providing companionship, outing and the like. Depends entirely on the person I would be supporting as all people are. individual and have their own sense about they live their life. I would encourage conversation and trust through talk and reliability/ dependability and being non judgemental. I am very adaptable and not adverse to experiencing skills or hobbies that the individual enjoys. I am a good storyteller, cook, gardener amongst other things and I would encourage the individual to be apart of my interests. Eg - assist with baking a cake, planting some plants, going to a garden nursery, asking questions about their life providing space for the individual to chat and tell their own story.
