One of my favorite things is to meet new people and form new friendships! I have a large family and three younger siblings so I have lots of experience in taking care of them and coming up with plans to entertain them and make them happy. I graduated high school last year and decided to take a gap year this year to enjoy myself and truly discover why I want to do medicine and become a doctor. During this gap year, I have also been tutoring 15+ kids from ages to 13-18 and helping them through their highs and lows which has led me to better understand mental health. Through this process of tutoring, I have realized how much people need someone to help them and I want to be that person that people can lean on. I also want to give back to the community that has helped me so much and truly understand the importance of helping people as it will help me become a good doctor with a passion and care for people.^& ^&I have written for the UN Youth Journal and currently write for Youth Journalism International, this explains my passion for writing. I would help someone in the community build their skills in writing so they can better express themselves. I would love to write short stories or journalism articles with them and show how they can 'show not tell' their stories and ideas. This can also help individuals greatly with mental health as writing is healing and can help individuals understand themselves as it can be seen as a form of meditation for example gratitude journals. These are some of the ways I would try and share this skill with someone in the community.^&
