What motivated me to become a support worker was years of informal experience as a carer with my own grandparents and relatives. Having seen the impact firsthand how disabilities can negatively impact ones quality of life, I see how a carer can eliminate these difficult tasks that place strain on family and friends. I personally understand how important it is to not only have a carer you get along with, but someone you can trust and rely upon for your personal tasks. I believe I would make a good carer as I am empathetic and well educated/interested in mental health disabilities having studied Psychology for the past 3 years. I am enthusiastic to help clients resume a sense of normalcy by empowering them to achieve anything they need help with. As a good listener, I not only hope to provide emotional support but to establish an amazing working relationship through friendship, support and care for my clientele. In my free time, I love staying active and enjoy playing sports like basketball and volleyball, as well as taking my dog for walks in the park or along the beach. I also like to unwind by cooking creative meals and playing video games. My passions include staying fit and fostering animals as I’ve had the rewarding experience of fostering many kittens. I bring strong time management, interpersonal skills, and adaptability to my work, which help me navigate challenging situations effectively. My previous experience as a medical receptionist has provided me with strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of booking systems and waiting times. I am excited about the opportunity to make a positive change and assist individuals in achieving their therapeutic goals.
