My grandma who lives with my family and I suffers have dementia. It has been slowly developing over the last 10 years and is now at its worst. I want to become a Social carer as I have seen first hand how disability and age impact an individual's life and the isolation that comes over them when they cannot do the same as they used to. I have cared for my grandma at home for many years and have cultivated the patience and kindness necessary to be a carer and find job out of caring for others. I want to be able to give my best care to others to ensure that no one feels isolated or lonely because they are not as lucky as others. I am currently studying Psychology at Macquarie University. I am in my first year and am enjoying the course a lot and hope that becoming a carer will help in my future aspirations. I enjoy learning about philosophy and anthropology and have many interests in sports. I have a passion for socialising and learning the life experiences of other. I come from a religious family where I learnt many important and invaluable attitudes and qualities such as patience, love and compassion and I actively extend this to everyone I meet. At my church I volunteered weekly hours to introducing the bible to people in my area.
