I've always been drawn to helping others, and my experience working with people with disabilities and in aged care as a support worker has deepened my passion for this field. For three years, I worked with individuals with disabilities in my home country, supporting them with daily tasks, advocating for their needs, and empowering them to live independently. This experience taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and understanding in building trust and fostering growth. As a support worker, I've seen firsthand the impact that dedicated care and support can have on someone's life. I've witnessed individuals overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and thrive with the right support. This experience has given me the skills and confidence to pursue a career in social care. I believe I will be good at this role because I possess the necessary skills, including: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work with diverse populations and tailor support to individual needs - Patience, empathy, and understanding - Experience with personal care, meal preparation, social companionship and medication management - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Moreover, I genuinely enjoy this work. I find joy in seeing individuals smile, laugh, and achieve their goals. I'm excited to bring my skills and passion to this role and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
