I enjoy helping people and making a difference in their lives, especially people which have previous trauma and issues with their lives, especially in regards to mental health. It is a fufilling process when directly helping a participant / person achieve their goals and aspirations, helping with life satisfaction and feeling a sense of purpose. I have over 6 months experience as a mental health support worker, which has aided my experience and development of such skills involved in household duties, as well as community participation such as taking a participant out for a cup of coffee, for a drive, for an appointment, or to meet their partner. An essential part of the job which I believe I possess is empathy and compassion, with a willingness to communicate to an individual what their goals are and how I can help them achieve their goals. ^& ^&Using Dining out as an example, I could take somone out in to the community for a nice walk in a park and talk to them about their day, how they are feeling and how their life is. Then I would ask the individual if they'd like something to eat or drink, and what food they'd feel like. If they said a cafe as an example, I'd go to a nearby cafe with them and dine out, asking if they enjoyed the food, have they gotten it before, do they like another cafe more and asked more about their general wellbeing and ask them topics about their / our interests etc. ^&
