I have been a major Trauma road accident survivor from many decades ago and have been through a long hospital recovery and getting going again with help from people, friends ,family & disability services to make an almost full recovery. Started out my working life as apprentice panel beater Until injury had me pivot to telecommunications & was highly trained by Telecom Australia, learning in Sydney and meeting a diverse amount of people. Born & worked on NSW central coast for many years where I grew up. Was raised amongst a medical background of Doctors & Nurses with Mother being a Nurse specialist, so I have plenty of experience with people with special needs & requirements. My older brother developed schizophrenia and ended up in a few different institutions. MY youngest sister has adhad & I have characteristics of ptsd after said trauma in 1978, have battled depression also. Before taking a redundancy from Telstra I took a temporary transfer to the construction branch & spent several years traveling itinerantly installing the new era of telecoms across the state, covering vast distances and meeting all sorts of people. A great effort which left me burnt out & broke down. Single again & retreated to my 100acre property on the Mid north coast. Where I spent a few years of mostly extreme isolation, before needing to return to people & find a new way forward. Returned to Tafe training & learning many skills in woodwork, hand tools, technology Mens health, until my Mother came down with dementia & I left my studies to attend to her needs & also doing much work on myself & Mens issue, have always believed everyone has a story that is worth listening to & have spent over a dozen years in a Men's talking circle group before covid closed it down. This year I have been doing a Volunteering job of driving for Community Transport Central Coast/ Coast connect mostly driving a Shirley Shuttle car picking up people having cancer treatments & transporting them to & from their appointments, sometimes also doing other type work such as elderly, vison impaired & people who just don't drive or prefer a more friendly & comprehensive & personal service door to door and having shopping/baggage carried for them. So I do have NDIS check & wwcc check in hand though in volunteer mode ( need to pay them if doing paid work) I would prefer not to work with children.^& ^&Fishing, walking movies, shopping for groceries, good listener, patient, friendly, self controlled & disciplined, reliable and courteous.^&
