About

Hi there, I'm Greg! I've spent the last six months working as a Youth Worker and I'm really excited to transition into being a Disability Support Worker. People say I'm friendly, hardworking, and super supportive, qualities I can't wait to bring into this new role. When I'm not working, you'll probably find me rock climbing, gaming, or hanging out with my family and our dogs. I might be new to disability support, but I've got loads of empathy and patience from my previous job. I believe that good care is all about trust and open communication, so I'll always be there to listen and offer a helping hand. I'm looking forward to meeting you and making a positive difference in your day-to-day life.^& ^&One of the skills I'm most passionate about is rock climbing. It's not just a sport but a fantastic avenue for building physical strength and mental resilience. While working at a rock climbing gym, I've gained valuable insights into the sport's technical aspects and safety protocols. I've also seen firsthand how rock climbing can foster community and self-confidence among participants. I've had the opportunity to introduce many of my clients to rock climbing, regardless of their initial skill level or physical limitations. In doing so, I've created connections within the community, linking individuals to a supportive and motivating environment. For example, I once took a client struggling with social anxiety to the climbing gym. We started with basic climbs and safety lessons. Over time, his climbing skills improved, and he began to open up more socially. It was incredibly rewarding to see how sharing my passion for rock climbing could have such a positive, multi-faceted impact on someone's life. So, whether it's a one-off outing or a regular weekly session, I love sharing the joy and benefits of rock climbing with others. It's a skill that can be adapted to suit a range of abilities and can serve as both a form of physical exercise and a way to improve mental well-being.^&
