I have always found great pleasure in helping people. Working at the Star Casino for the past 4 years has allowed me to work a diverse range of people from different cultural groups. This experience made me aware of different peoples circumstances and how to handle difficult situations thrown at me. I am currently doing my certificate IIII in community services and would love to apply my knowledge learnt to this job. You always remember the people that helped you up when you were down and I would love to have that impact on someone's life weather it be through cooking a meal with them or teaching them how to meditate. knowing that you made a change is someone's life is a big part of the reason why I chose this career path, although cooking was a thrill I didn't get the gratification I wanted. I hope to work with people from different cultural backgrounds to learn more about people's cultures, and especially with people that have a mental illness as I suffer from depression and anxiety myself. I would love to teach someone the fundamentals of cooking, cooking is super interactive and its quite easy for people to pick up and there's a great sense of accomplishment when you do it. It would also be super gratifying to see someone using what you've taught them to make there own meals in the future and cook for themselves and their family. I would do this by showing them basic cooking methods and making sure they establish safe practices within the kitchen.
