Hello! I'm Lara, I am currently working as a hospital pharmacy technician, and I'm eager to start a career in support work. I am a dedicated and compassionate person with a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those I support. My journey in this field is driven by a strong belief that everyone deserves the best care and support to live fulfilling lives. I’m known for my easy-going nature and positive attitude, which will help me build strong, trusting relationships with those I support. Whether it’s teaching life skills like public transport navigation, cooking, cleaning, or engaging in enjoyable activities such as, metal detecting, hikes/walks, and outdoor adventures, I will strive to make every interaction meaningful and enriching. I enjoy staying active through the gym, bouldering, hiking, and swimming. My interests also include arts, movies, cooking, gardening, and playing board and computer games. I'm open to a wide range of activities and find joy in crafting, camping, and exploring new hobbies. I am also available for overnight stays. I pride myself on being reliable, punctual, and an effective communicator, capable of working independently or as part of a team. My goal is to support individuals in leading their best lives with dignity and joy. If you’re looking for someone who is dedicated, compassionate, and versatile, I’d love to connect and discuss how I can contribute to your support needs. With nearly a decade of experience in both community and hospital pharmacy, I bring extensive knowledge of medication management, including proficiency with Webster packs and pill identification. This background equips me to offer valuable support in medication adherence and health management. I currently do not have experience with support work, but my personal experience includes caring for elderly family members, including grandparents and an uncle with Down syndrome. This has further deepened my understanding, empathy and desire to support people in need of support. I’ve also supported cousins and friends with autism, ADHD and various mental health disabilities, gaining insights into various needs and effective communication strategies. I have a car!
