I was motivated to become a Social Carer by my personal experiences with caregiving. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I took on the role of her primary caregiver for nearly two years, managing everything from meal preparation to coordinating medical appointments and providing emotional support. After her passing, I continued to care for my 93-year-old grandmother, who I’ve been supporting for the past four years. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of caregiving, and they’ve instilled in me a passion for helping others maintain their dignity and quality of life, especially during difficult times. I am passionate about supporting others and making a positive impact in their lives, which has been a driving force in my personal and professional journey. My skills include effective communication, problem-solving, and a strong ability to stay calm under pressure—qualities I’ve developed through hands-on caregiving experiences and my academic background at University. I’m also dedicated to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, with a love for activities like daily gym workouts, soccer, bushwalking, swimming and bouldering. These hobbies not only keep me physically fit but also help me stay focused.
