Hi my name is Elijah! What would make me a great Social Carer? Well, first of all I love people! More specifically I love bringing joy to people's lives and creating fun. I love making people feel heard and understood, wanted and cared for. I'm the oldest of 4 boys and have a lot of experience in engaging with young people, particularly within the outdoor recreation sector. I get a lot of value out of sharing new experiences with people and helping them to engage with the world. As a nursing student I'm studying a degree that will allow me to care for others in a professional capacity - medically. But, I also think it is so important that people feel connected to the world and have caring people in their lives who are able to help them connect socially and culturally as well, which can often be forgotten! I'd love to work at likefamily for those reasons!^& ^&I have a variety of skills/interests/hobbies including gardening, cooking, and rock climbing (and many more) however one skill I'd love to be able to share would be personal organisation. I love being organised and have found lots of different techniques that help me to manage the various things that sometimes try and compete with each other in my life. I've really enjoyed helping others both at Uni and in my family to manage their time and resources better and would love to be able to help others in the community with that skill. Practically I'd be able to mentor others in the use of technology to assist in organisation and different approaches to managing time and tasks. ^&
