I believe I would make an excellent social carer as I have experience working with CALD communities- myself being culturally and linguistically diverse. I tend to understand and connect with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I understand that cultural competence involves compassion and respecting the cultural nuances of diverse populations to provide more effective and inclusive support. My ability to establish rapport quickly, foster a trusting and supportive environment, and adapt to the evolving needs of individuals, would also set me apart as great social carer. I am an empath and an active listener, being able to listen actively, without judgement, allows me to better understand individuals' needs and concerns. ^& ^&One of my hobbies is baking. I could share this with someone in the community by working with the care plan to find ways to integrate baking into the individual's routine or activities. I can plan baking sessions that align with the individual's abilities and preferences, starting with simple recipes and gradually increase complexity based on their comfort level. I may also organizing group baking sessions with other community members to create a social and inclusive atmosphere. With permission, we could create a scrapbook or memory book by taking photos of the baking session. This can serve as a delightful keepsake for the individual and the community.^&
