About

I have always been an advocate for social justice and change. I wanted to do a job that made real change in the community since I was a child. I have a Bachelor of Social Science and understand social structures that benefit some, and disadvantage others. I would love to work as a support worker to assist people to overcome these structures in their lives, and walk alongside them to achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives. I am a passionate academic, I am currently studying a post-graduate law degree and have an undergraduate degree too. I love to learn through my academic pursuits, as well as learn through every person I meet, their stories, views and ideas. I am also a nature-lover. I live in the Blue Mountains because I love to be surrounded my trees and walk in nature as much as I can! I love to express myself creatively too, through my passion for ceramics and pottery. One of my favourite things to do is op-shop or look in vintage shops to find treasures and trinkets! I have a professional background working in the public health system, as a Mental Health Support Worker. This role was challenging, exciting and fulfilling. I worked with patients experiencing ill-mental health to find relevant long-term psychological and social support services. My favourite part about this job was talking to the diverse individuals I came across. I am a laid back person and take challenges as they come. I like to chat but am also comfortable spending time with people in silence. I am person-centred and happy to go along with anything my clients are wishing to do - and am also happy to come up with creative and fun activities to do!
