I love connecting with people and sharing my time, passions and empathetic attitude with others. I am a young person myself who is on the autistic spectrum and studying nursing. I believe lived experience can be extremely resourceful! I spend most of my own time creating artworks and crafts of my own- I love to share these skills or teach others how to use their inner creativity. I've found social supports extremely enriching in my own personal life and am eager to the possibility of providing this to others who may need a similar company. I also recognise the importance of building healthy social bonds and life skills whilst growing to understand/accept ourselves as humans, being self compassionate & kind to others. ^& ^&I would be eager to learn from said person how they spend their time or what interests they have. Becoming aware of their goals or particular interests, through this bond I would like to tailor creative projects or skill building activities to their interests or goals. For example bringing art supplies and setting a goal for a project, assisting them with their needs or wants whilst also learning to cater to their communication style leaving room for feedback or idea development. For example, the person in the community may be set on wanting to learn to paint. Activities could consist of learning to paint either visually from myself or both verbally in an environment in which they are comfortable and find enjoyable. I also believe there is much benefit in mindful creative activities that serve a sensory benefit such as working with clay or paint pouring. I believe a major part of this would be finding a medium and setting for activities that are enjoyed by the client as every individual person is different. At the end of the day my goal would be to really strengthen that social care client relationship bond whilst developing a creative work for a client to be proud of or happy with their experience spent engaging in arts or crafts activities whilst getting to know someone. ^&
