About

Due to the social issues (Alcoholism, Drug abuse etc) in the society and the ravaging effects of COVID-19, I am interested in social work/care interventions in order to protect the vulnerabilities in the society. During my work as Analyst, I learned that today’s complex health care issues require a multidisciplinary approach ranging from environment health, social policy, leadership in public health. For example, I often see children and old-aged people living in unhygienic neighborhood. ^& ^&I will be able to contribute my knowledge of research and environmental health for the well-being of the society via practical experience in social care and public health. i. As an Aged care and disability support worker in an old peoples home, by assisting residents in meeting their physical and emotional needs. ii. Adhered to each resident’s Level of Care (LOC), notifies supervisor of any changes in resident’s condition. iii. Answered and responded to resident calls in a timely manner. iv. Assisted residents with activities of daily living. v. Checked residents every two (2) hours and reports findings. vi. Encouraged residents to attend meals in the dining room by escorting to and from Dining room. vii. Assisted residents with meals in ways that meet their individual needs and desires, while being cognizant of changes in appetites and physical abilities to eat and drink. viii. Assisted with cleaning and setting the dining room. ix. Assisted with cleaning and tidying resident’s room. x. Assisted with resident’s personal laundry. xi. Established and maintained good relationships with residents and their families. xii. Responded to resident emergencies. ^&
