I'd make a great Social Carer because I genuinely love engaging with people in a way that betters their well-being and I'm wholeheartedly invested in making sure that everyone can live their life with as much contentment and happiness as possible, in spite of any circumstances which we may face. Studying psychology has ultimately shown me how deeply I want to be of assistance to people in life, and I have grown to understand in order to do so there must be an authentic desire to understand them without judgement, to ensure that I have myself sorted before trying to help anyone else and to communicate transparently and from a place of love no matter who it is that I am talking to. My experiences mentoring in university has also shown me the tremendous value of keeping things light, fun, organized and genuine with anyone who needs support. ^& ^&As previously mentioned, during my participation in the (ACU)Life-Hacker Program I was able to immediately establish a common interest with my mentee which was sports and more specifically our shared passion of basketball. Considering this, I created a weekly routine for us to being all of our meet-ups/sessions with a friendly game of HORSE (common basketball game where we shoot from different spots) and spent a lot of time exchanging lots of fun conversations about sport and ultimately transitioning to other aspects of life which we shared in common. ^&
