At Like Family, our mission has always been to connect people in need with locals who care. Since 2016, we’ve provided over 1.8 million hours of social support, helping thousands of Australians achieve greater independence and build lasting relationships.

None of this would have been possible without you, our Social Carers, who consistently go above and beyond to help our Members achieve their goals.

This year's pricing landscape has moved more than usual, and we wanted to make sure you understand what's driving the increase to your rates. The Fair Work Commission's annual wage review and the NDIA's 2026-27 Pricing Schedule have both landed, and together they shape how rates on the platform are updated each year. We keep a close eye on both so the rates we offer remain competitive and reflect the value of the work you do.

To continue providing valuable services to Members and support the Social Carers who deliver them, we'd like to inform you that on 1 September 2026 we will be increasing our pricing.

Why are we increasing our fees?

Each year, we review the rates we offer for services on the platform. From 1 September 2026, the rates for 1-on-1 support will increase to $50.00 per hour on weekdays and $67.00 per hour on weekends.

This year's increase reflects broader movements in the sector — including the Fair Work Commission's annual review and the NDIA Pricing Schedule — alongside our own review of fair rates in the current environment. We know costs have risen across the board, and this update reflects that.

What does this mean for Members?

Prices for our members will increase for 1-on-1 support. Most of this increase flows directly to the rates paid to Social Carers. Additionally, our new rates are 9% below NDIS rates, ensuring that our Members can continue to make the most out of their budget.

What’s changing?

Our new pricing will come into effect on 1 September 2026 and we are committed to maintaining these prices for 12 months.

Bookings for August will be charged at the current rates.

For Social Carers with recurring bookings, we will be updating dashboards over the coming weeks to reflect the new prices. From 1 September, your dashboard will show the correct amounts for all future bookings.

What's staying the same?

  • Competitive Rates: Rates on the platform sit above the industry average.
  • Affordable Rates: Keeping our rates below NDIS price limits and aged care averages to maximise Member funding.
  • Transparent Rates: Clear, consistent rates across the platform so you always know what a booking pays.

Where does the difference go?

We believe in being transparent about how your money is spent. Here’s a breakdown of how the difference between Member rates and Social Carer rates is used:

  • Quality & Safeguards: Adhering to compliance and regulations to keep our members safe.
  • Insurance: The platform arranges Public Liability and Group Personal Accident cover that applies during bookings.
  • Operating Costs: This includes payment processing, which cannot be covered by government funding.
