We founded Like Family to connect people in need with locals who care. Since 2016, we’ve provided over 1 million hours of social support and helped thousands of Australians to achieve greater independence and build relationships that will last a lifetime.

None of this would have been possible without our network of 3,200+ active Social Carers, who go above and beyond to help our Members to achieve their goals.

To recognise the new NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and the Fair Work Commission's recent 15% award wage increase, we will be updating our pricing on 1 September 2023.

💡
If you're an NDIS participant, don't worry — the NDIA automatically increases all NDIS plan budgets in July to accommodate the change in price limits.

If you're a Home Care Package recipient, the Australian Government increased the Home Care package subsidy rate by 11.9% on 1 July 2023 to ensure you receive the same level of support.

We’ve taken great care to ensure our pricing remains simple and affordable for our Members, while continuing to pay our Social Carers fairly and competitively for their valuable work.

What's staying the same?

We want to ensure as many Australians as possible can access quality, affordable social support. That means:

  • Keeping our rates well below the NDIS price limits for social supports, so you can achieve more of your goals no matter what funding you have
  • Continuing to charge flat hourly rates, so you don’t need to negotiate prices with your Social Carer
  • Not charging credit card fees, so you don’t get hit with any surprise costs
  • Keeping our 1 hour minimum booking length for face-to-face support, and a minimum 30 minutes for video and phone bookings
  • Continuing to compensate our Social Carers fairly for their valuable work, at a higher rate than other providers

What’s changing?

Our new pricing will come into effect on 1 September 2023. We’re committed to maintaining these prices for 12 months.

Bookings that take place up until this date will be charged at the current rates. For our Members with recurring bookings, please bear with us over the coming weeks as we update your dashboards to reflect the upcoming price changes. From 1 September, your dashboard will have the correct amounts against all your future bookings.

Where your money goes

We want to be as transparent as possible about how your money is spent. That's why we've shared our hourly rates for both Members and Social Carers.

The difference between the two is used to cover:

  • Our staff. We help with things like invoicing and Social Carer recruitment to save you the stress from doing it yourself.
  • Insurance. We have Public Liability and Group Personal Accident Insurance in place to give our Social Carers peace of mind during bookings.
  • Payment processing and operating costs. This includes the cost to process credit card transactions, which cannot be covered by your NDIS funding.

We’d love to hear your feedback

We want to do our best to ensure everyone can access the social support they need, regardless of their funding situation.

If you have any questions or feedback about our new pricing, head to our Help Centre to submit an online form or book in a time to chat with our friendly Customer Care team.

Thanks for your continued support!
